Following the release of Efdemin’s ‘Naïf’ mix CD on Curle Recordings, our editor-in-chief Tom Durston met up with Phillip Sollmann at his studio in Berlin for a one-on-one discussion about his new mix and the subsequent seven-part series of vinyl that are seeing release through his own imprint Naïf. We also reflect back on his early DJ career, learning the ropes at Pudel Club in Hamburg and his current relationship with Berghain.

Efdemin: Naïf

Let’s not beat about the bush: 2017 was far from a vintage year for the commercial mix. While all and sundry have been lining up to ring the death knell, 2018 is full of enterprising projects looking to buck the trend. The commercial mix certainly still has a few tricks up its sleeve and it would be a far poorer world without it. Efdemin’s ‘Naïf’ is an incredibly strong argument in its favour.

Inigo Kennedy: Requiem Remixed

This selection of remixes from last year’s “Vaudeville LP” by Inigo Kennedy is an absolute delight, drafting in four producers (Efdemin, Kangding Ray, Regis, Dasha Rush) who are terrifically on point.

Buffered Multiple: Buffer 01

Three years after its beginnings, Efdemin’s imprint Lirum Larum is back with a second effort by Vienna-based duo Buffered Multiple, supported by a remix from Efdemin himself.
