Farr Festival reveal first acts and stage hosts: Moodymann, Dixon, Eclair Fifi, Bokeh Versions

Holler people, it’s this time of the year again. Today we’re no short of glad to present you the first wave of acts that’ll be unfurling on Bygrave Woods for the ninth edition of Farr Festival, and we have little doubt you’ll be drooling over this inaugural list of artists scheduled to perform.

Big names come ahead and the centre stage will be welcoming some of the finest DJs and selectors on the worldwide map in the persons of Detroit house legend Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann, Innervisions co-founder Dixon, Running Back honcho Gerd Janson, seminal Glaswegian duo Optimo as well as LuckyMe mainstay Eclair Fifi.

Regarding the stage hosts, Mr G will be returning to present his tongue-in-cheek ‘G’s Spot’ stage, where the cream of the crop of US-based DJs and producers will join forces alongside further afield talents. The Phoenix G boss man will also bring back his Funktion One sound system.

Our fellow friends at Ransom Note will take helm of the woods for a three-night session, showcasing a selection of local and international contributors from their discography. Sub Club maestros JD Twitch and JG Wilkes will curate the special ‘Optimo & Friends’ lineup via the RSN stage, proving if needed that they’re still two of the finest selectors around.

Straight out of their Peckham lair, Balamii Radio will be joining the fun with a wealth of highly-promising new blood, hosting a stage of their own across the festival’s four days of partying.

Last but not least, we’re more than chuffed to follow up to the success of our ‘Campfire Headphase’ stage – dedicated to all things atmospheric and hard-to-classify – with an expanded programme of otherworldly electronic music spanning the realms of ambient and downtempo via experimental and rugged techno. Rest assured your weekend will be in the best of hands.

We also seized the occasion to invite one of our favourite labels of the moment, i.e. Bristol-based imprint Bokeh Versions, to take over our stage on Sunday, as they’ll look to curate a forward thinking presentation of dub past and present, whilst breathing in everything from trip-hop, dancehall, grime and illbient.

Weekend tickets to the four day festival are on sale now, buy tickets.
