Premiere: Giorgio Luceri – Along Came Ra

After getting into music as a child and rapidly starting to take piano lessons in his hometown of Salento (Southern Italy), Giorgio Luceri first came in touch with the electronic music scene and more specifically the house sphere in Perugia, at a time the infamous Red Zone Club was the driving force of the city, from 1989 to 2010.

Debuting five years ago on his own imprint 6D22, the Italian producer got to know Jamal Moss around 2011 to then enter the Mathematics Recordings‘ roster, where he will release several EPs as well as his debut album ‘Voices In My Head‘.

The artist, also known as Garofano Rosso, breaks this year in with ‘Space Fire Truth‘, a four-track EP set for landing via Lakuti’s imprint Uzuri on April 25th.

The opening track, ‘Along Came Ra‘ which we’re glad to bring you in full-stream today, is a soulful twist of cheerful jazzy tones that slowly increase their rhythm to stumble on off-kilter broken beats and chopped-up vocals sneaking in and around the melody.

The track somehow feels like the cosmic audio rendition of ‘orecchiette‘, a traditional Apulian home-made pasta, flavoured with melting broccoli raabs, random anchovies and tiny pieces of dried tomatoes to mark the rhythm. Tasty.

Space Fire Truth is released via Uzuri on 25th April 2016, pre-order a vinyl copy on Juno.
