Italian techno producer Alessandro ‘Buck’ Stefanio’s newborn label Substrato is set to release its debut instalment, courtesy of fellow compatriot and Transition Lab Recordings’ label head Limo. ‘Fluid Identity‘ will hit the shelves on 17th February 2016.
Despite the references to aqueous flows and spaces of its title, the four-tracker sports a more alpine-inspired cover. Here certainly lies the essential paradox behind Limo’s christening piece, reconciling elements and forces, marrying organic fluidness with deep synthetic strata.
‘Fluid Identity’ delivers spacious panoramic views of wide-spreading rock formations and mountain mist in equal measure, radiating sun-heat over frozen mantles. On remix duty, Glaswegian producer Edit Select takes the helm for a heady ride: heavy sub kicks and otherworldly pads collide in a relentless ascension, climbing up the ridge whilst air seems to lack. A minimal, hallucinogenic let-go that’s reaching for upper, exhilarating heights.
