Premiere: LK – Angel

Even though their catalogue would normally be in the budding stage like most labels established two years ago, Bristol’s Shall Not Fade seems to get busier from year to year. 14 releases in and three sub-labels later, Kieran Williams’ imprint returns with a new instalment from one of SNF key contributors and UK house staples, Jordon Saxton alias LK.

On ‘Think About It First‘ EP, Saxton explores a palette similar to his previous instalments in both style and mood, delivering a fine-tuned slice of downtempo summery grooves and breezy chillers. Our premiere, ‘Angel‘, is a refreshing cocktail of skittish percs and drums, hip-swaying synths and bouncy Rhodes stabs, reminiscent of the sleek and lightweight French house sound from the ’90s.

Lovers of the vibey, panchromatic house of Pepe Bradock and Floating Points take note, this one binds the easy-going charm of ‘Path Of Most Resistance‘ and subtle smokey flavours of the Eglo regular’s jazzy anthems quite brilliantly. What better way of easing you into this scorching summer?

Think About It First EP is released via Shall Not Fade on 10th July, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
