Premiere: Nikolajev – Retta (Dance Mix)

Incepted earlier this year with a pair of releases from Talinn-based producer Endamisi Salamisi, Estonian imprint PÄÄSTEVEST hasn’t made much waves outside the frontiers of the country yet, but the situation shall change drastically as quality releases start to pile up. Starting with Nikolajev‘s stunning two-track bomb, ‘Retta’, freshly out and about via Rubadub’s sprawling networks.

After a joint effort alongside Glasgow’s Ragnar as Dima Disk, followed by his debut solo 12″ on Montreal-based label Collect-Call, Nikolajev strikes hard on his latest for the local platform.

Dishing up two abrasive yet radically different versions derived from the same original genome, the Lekker boss sets the bar high with ‘Retta (Dance Mix)‘ – a full-fledged filthy nugget of brain-washing electronics. Built upon a sturdy 4/4 thump and hyperventilating hat motifs, the track rolls out its opaque blend of acid arpeggios and bleepy melodics all over the place, granting you a one-way ticket deep into its hellish heart of darkness.

Retta is out now via PÄÄSTEVEST, order a copy from Phonica.
