Dancing under the myriad stars of the North African skies, soundtracked by legends of ambient techno; the premise of Under The Desert Stars reads like a utopian dream. Yet, between 27 – 29 September, Dutch promoter Isotoop and Moroccan record label Tikita join forces to bring this dream to life.
Located within a tranquil expanse of desert just 45 minutes by car from Marrakech, cradled by the silent Atlas Mountains – Agafay Luxury Desert Camp will play host to Under The Desert Stars, a truly unique event featuring some of the finest acts in underground experimental electronic music today including; Ario (Astral Industries), Don’t DJ, Jane Fitz, Kangding Ray, Neel, Marco Shuttle, The Transcendance Orchestra (Anthony Child aka Surgeon & Daniel Bean) and many more will join forces to soundtrack a celestial journey from sunrise to sunset.
The location will play to the strength of the artists, during the heat of the day (circa 30 degrees), the campsite and pool area will be turned into an oasis, with palm trees, shaded areas and water sprayers to keep you cool. Once the sun has set the main stage will come to life, as the music begins to unfold until the sun rises over the alien landscapes of the Moroccan desert. Throughout the night a stargazing area will be open, allowing party-goers to soak up the Milky Way.
With so many acts preparing unique one-off performances, this is a lot more than a traditional gathering of names. Individuality and a totally unique experience is at the very heart of Under The Desert Stars. This is not the start of an annual festival, but rather a roaming concept with core principles of environmental connectivity, collective presence and shared experience.
