Following the release of ‘Los Ojos Ajenos Ven Ruinas de su Propia Alma‘ by KRXNX & ROOi, Buenos Aires-based Nodo Label make a thunderous return with ‘Hirameki‘, the debut album from local sonic architect Andrés Montero Bustamante, better known as tesssssssssssting.
A figure both enigmatic and unmistakable, tesssssssssssting reshapes the fringes of sound design into visceral, glitch-fuelled worlds that dissolve the lines between club energy and cerebral exploration. Spanning 11 shape-shifting tracks, ‘Hirameki‘ plunges into deconstructed rhythms, IDM, field recordings and noise-driven experiments. It’s a fever dream where human intuition and mechanical chaos intertwine, conjuring a surrealist tableau of disassembled reality and rebuilt futures.
Our pick from the album is ‘sprkl‘ acts as a vortex into tesssssssssssting’s warped reality. A metallic thrum of staggered kick drums and shimmering frequencies sets the tone, pulling the listener into a labyrinth of mutant radio signals and ghostly textures. The track’s slowed-down breakbeat pulse evokes the after-hours haze of a cyberpunk dystopia. Tension builds as church-like synths rise to the fore, their solemnity pierced by earth-shattering breakbeats.
