Premiere: Affekt Unit – Discorgy

The fourth release on Philoxenia Records arrives courtesy of Affekt Unit, a collaboration between label founders Luigi Di Venere and Neu Verboten. ‘Discorgy’, the duo’s second EP, follows an appearance on Jennifer Cardini’s Dischi Autunno label and is supercharged with explosive rave energy.

The Berlin-based duos latest EP is a diverse trip that ranges from euphoric moments to darker shades of club hedonism. Celebrating classic dancefloor styles, the three tracks here are all indebted to sounds from the early nineties.

Our pick from the release is the title track. From the persistent 303 lines to the snappy snare drums, there’s an abrasive edge to many of the elements here and a haunting quality to the reverb-drenched piano that punctuates the track.

‘Discorgy’ is scheduled for release 13 March via Philoxenia Records. Order a copy from Juno.
