Entering their third year of activity, the discreet yet true-to-type Hamburg-based imprint Lehult return this summer with a stout double-LP package featuring some of the label’s key contributors – Lucky Charmz, Johan Kaseta, Liem, DJ Assam – and new faces such as Session Victim half and Giegling regular Mathias Reiling and Yappin honcho DJ Slyngshot.
Sweeping a wide-lens sound spectrum that spans from purebred, sweat-inducing piano house pumpers (Liem & Eddie Ness ‘Exodoros‘) through fun, AFX-indebted uptempo rollers (‘Trance Song Cover‘) onto vibey blends of off-key cosmic jazz (‘Looking For Revenge‘) and aqueous summer vibes (‘Speedrunner IV‘), the compilation offers an extra-large array of multi-functional flavours.
Our premiere, A Trap Jr. & DJ Slyngshot ‘Lonely Is The Night‘ finds the pair cruising deep. Rolling out a proper relentless, hypnotic groove that conjures the ghosts of the early Chicago house scene with hints of Slyngshot’s signature breaks, this one shall make quite an impact when the dancers’ minds start to veer off into ecstasy but feet are still agile enough to keep up with the throb of the bass.
