Caribou to release new album ‘Our Love’ via City Slang in October

It’s been four years since  aka Dan Snaith released his multi-award winning album ‘Swim’, an album that has come to epitomise the summer months. Caribou now returns with a new 10 track album titled ‘Our Love‘ scheduled for release on the 6th October 2014 via .

You can pre-order the album on vinyl here, stream the first track of the album via Soundcloud, or pre-order the album via iTunes and receive the track ‘Can’t Do Without You‘ for free. Below you can read extracts of the press release:

Our Love is formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip hop inspired beats, muted house basslines and a love of shuffling garage that can be traced all the way back to the time of Start Breaking My Heart which are, of course, all filtered through Dan’s own unique perspective. The warm analogue sounds of classic soul should not be overlooked either, for they weave themselves most intensely into the records DNA. In fact, Our Love is probably Caribou’s most soulful record to date, chock-full of heartfelt lyrics and organic sounds which cut through the blissful euphoria of bubbling synths and the albums synthetic constructions.

Everything on Our Love is perfectly placed. It’s uncluttered but not sterile; minimal but not distant, straightforward but still incredibly sophisticated. The gleaming, addictive cycles and manifest mantra of lead single ‘Can’t Do Without You’ exemplify these elements perfectly: its singular looped lyrical hook twisting with limited melodic sequences to become this breathing, growing, meaningful, complex track.
