Now that Spring has sprung, our sister mix series Newtype Rhythms returns with steppin’ aplomb with a mix from Bristolian ace Daffy providing some immensely uplifting energies in tandem with his latest release on Hot Haus Recs being out and about, entitled “Cool It”.
The sounds of Daffy should prove familiar to any dancefloor regular within the last few years; as he’s amassed an exceptional run of releases on labels such as ec2a, Timeisnow and of course – the aforementioned Hot Haus imprint. However, what’s delightful about Daffy’s productions and mixes is the variety of uplifting revelry that’s coming from the jump; as he veers between the variances of UKG (be it “Twice As Nice” or “speed garage”) or the warbling brilliance of bassline – there is a notable buoyancy and bounce that is impressive, infectious and of course – rude in the finest sense of the word.
Get them bassbins ready and check out the exceptional mix from Daffy at around the 38 minute mark; per usual, resident Sheepshead warm things up in the interim.
