Inverted Audio is the world’s most respected underground electronic music platform, founded in London in 2009. Driven by a close-knit team of writers, photographers, and filmmakers, the magazine has spent over fifteen years uncovering the artists, labels, and sounds shaping the global electronic music scene. Editorial output spans long-form interviews, reviews, and original film productions. Notable collaborations include work with Dekmantel, and special commissions alongside filmmaker Rebecca Salvadori — among them Inside Fold and Desert Rave. The magazine has interviewed some of the most significant figures in electronic music, including Luke Slater, Valentino Mora, Max Richter, Roza Terenzi, Christian Löffler, Jennifer Cardini, Huerco S, Cera Khin, Lawrence, DJ Koze, Giegling, Lorenzo Senni, Ben Kaczor, Florian T M Zeisig, and many more.
Inverted Audio Record Store is our physical home — a specialist shop situated in Peckham, London. Opened as a natural extension of the magazine’s curatorial ethos, the store brings the same discernment that shapes our editorial work to the buying and selling of records. The selection spans electronic music in its many forms — from ambient and experimental to club-focused and everything in between — alongside a considered range of cassettes and clothing.
Open Thursday to Saturday 12:00–18:00 and Sunday 12:00–16:00, the store functions as a cultural space as much as a retail one: a place to discover music, connect with the community, and engage with the underground scene that Inverted Audio has documented for over fifteen years. We host in-store events and record fairs, and produce limited-edition cassette releases in collaboration with artists from the extended Inverted Audio family.
