David Castellani collaborates with contemporary dancer AnnMarie Arcuri on ‘Hysteria Dichotic’

Originally broadcasted on our Facebook channel earlier this month, ‘Hysteria Dichotic‘ is an intimate collaboration between Italian born now LA-based modular synthesist David Castellani and New York-based contemporary dancer AnnMarie Arcuri, resulting in an hour-long film named ‘Hysteria Dichotic‘.

Blending the lines of contemporary dance, modular synthesis and film – ‘Hysteria Dichotic’ is a multi-sensory expression, providing viewers a creative journey through contemporary dance and analog hardware techno.

Filmed in a stark studio, Castellani stands in front of a behemoth of modular synths, whilst Arcuri interweaves her body amidst sonic propulsions, providing a possessed rhythmic expression to the peak-time hardware performance.

“The interaction embodies physics in motion, as she interprets the sound generated by the modular rig and becomes a visual manifestation of the music, speaking to the transfer of electricity into kinetic energy” – David Castellani
