Outlaw Records kick-start label compilation series with Dot & Matthew Oh, Nicolas Barnes, Modernism, Ian Oskadev

Italian dub techno imprint Outlaw unveil their first hand-stamped label compilation, featuring deep and immersive cuts from Dot & Matthew Oh, Nicolas Barnes, Modernism, and Ian Oskadev.

Founded in 2015, Outlaw has built a reputation for delivering uncompromisingly deep, dub-infused vinyl-only releases, spearheaded by label boss Matthew Oh. Now, they now expand their vision with this inaugural compilation, showcasing a stellar lineup of artists and surefire club heaters.

Leading the charge, Matthew Oh teams up with Israeli producer Dot for ‘Horizon‘, a seven-and-a-half-minute sonic journey driven by bouncy bass stabs, expansive textures, and crisp drum programming. Estonian producer Nicolas Barnes—renowned for his work on Rawax, Vuo, and Greyscale—follows with ‘Frames‘, a weighty, low-end groove laced with murky dub stabs, shuffled percussion, and cinematic pads.

On the flip side, Italian duo Modernism introduces ‘Metal Covered‘, blending organic percussion, deep subs, and swirling atmospherics to mesmerising effect. Closing out the EP, Czech producer Ian Oskadev delivers ‘Clarity Of Thoughts‘, an entrancing fusion of evolving pads, intricately layered stab sequences, and swung drum rhythms. Outlaw’s first compilation is a testament to the label’s deep-rooted commitment to high-quality dub techno.

‘Outlaw V.A. Vol.1’ is scheduled for release on 14th February via Outlaw. Order a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store.
