Valencian record label Abstrakce prepare to issue their next release from Rome-based rhythm alchemist Antonio De Oto, better known as A-Tweed.
Known for threading the needle between psychoactive dub rituals and post-industrial groovecraft on Tresor and Multi Culti, De Oto steps up with his debut album ‘Spring Music’ unfolding like a hallucinatory culinary book venturing through mutant futurism and off-grid chuggers. Across 11 tracks, the producer deciphers a long-forgotten ethnography from a parallel civilisation, weaving together stretched-out polyrhythms, tribal rhythms and leftfield resonance, channeling the energy of the early stages of acid florescence.
Our pick is opening track ‘Latvian Woods Against Your GPS’, which sets the tone with psyched-out precision. Imagine a satellite crashing into a forest and broadcasting its final coordinates in slow motion, De Oto’s rhythms flicker like morse code sent through moss. Swells of dusted FX and acid debris shimmer through the underworld, while ghostly monologues pulse through the mix like field recordings from another dimension.
‘Spring Music‘ is scheduled for release 13th June via Abstrakce Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
