Premiere: Barbarelle – Angel

Tallinn-based record label Hidden Harmony prepare to release their most supernatural release to date with ‘Celesta‘, the debut album from Buenos Aires-based artist Bárbara Salazar aka Barbarelle.

An enigmatic presence in the avant-garde ambient scene, Barbarelle has long navigated the liminal zones of sound through immersive radio excursions on Dublab and meticulous curatorial ventures. Nearly three years in the making, ‘Celesta‘ was recorded largely in single takes between Buenos Aires and Estudio Pasternak (Los Angeles), shimmering like a star, a seraphic transmission etched in after-hour surrealism.

‘Angel‘, unfurls like a lost hymn drifting through time. Space-delayed piano chords tremble at the precipice of silence, as if composed in secret by celestial hands gathering above the clouds. Birds chirp over distorted, childlike voices, intertwining with an unseen yet protective intelligence. It’s a weightless meditation on human fragility – an ode to the ineffable, where love and memory dissolve into the ether, leaving behind only their glowing traces.

‘Celesta’ is scheduled for release on 11th March via Hidden Harmony Recordings. Buy a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store and digital from Bandcamp.
