Premiere: Bhed – Somni (Pugilist Remix)

Residing in the South of Germany, Simon Seißler aka Bhed has been producing what he refers to as “drum-focused, bass-heavy music” since 2011. Since his first forays into production, he’s sought to develop a signature sound that focuses on space and bass.

Fast-forward a decade and he’s released music through a variety of imprints in addition to the label he co-runs, Hedonism Recordings. He also hosts a bi-monthly show on Dublab radio called ‘Leave Your Body Behind‘ – offering “a profound low end experience dwelling on ambient-occultism & varied psychedelia, mixed up with his own interpretation of what they used to call “meditate on bass weight”.

Bhed’s next release lands on ROW Records. This four-track release certainly fulfils the space and bass brief. Our pick is the remix from Melbourne’s Pugilist who twists ‘Somni’ into a percussion-heavy heater filled with expert break splicing, dreamy pads and ominous ambience.

‘Somni’ is scheduled for release 23 July via ROW Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
