Marking their tenth release, Brussels-based Magma Records line up a feverish transmission from Antwerp-based production duo Borokov Borokov.
Leaving their mark on Copenhagen-based record label Music For Dreams and Magnetron Music, the duo return with a genre-mutating escapade designed for hedonistic hours – where steamed-up mirrors blur the line between neon-lit euphoria and pure delirium. Across four tracks, ‘World War‘ EP delivers a mischievous brew of Italo-house, rotating disco and the raw bite of analog post-punk. It also features contributions from Youniss Ahamad on co-production, Lara Chedraoui of Intergalactic Lovers delivering hypnotic German chants and Frankie Traandruppel adding his signature off-kilter touch.
Our pick, ‘If This Is The Title Of This Track You’d Better Listen To A Bob Dylan Song‘, launches into a cosmos of machine-made psychedelia. Ultra-sculpted arpeggios ripple through space-delay tunnels, their resonant snares colliding in a slow-motion implosion. As warped harp squawks flutter over semi-disco bass oscillations, the track unravels like a surrealist fever dream – an ecstatic descent into mechanical delirium, where every echo is a distant whisper from a forgotten paradise.
‘World War‘ is scheduled for release 28th February via Magma Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
