Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Cedie Janson self-releases his fifth solo effort named ‘The River’.
After years of crafting highly arranged soundtracks for films including ‘Miss Underwater‘ , ‘For Your Consideration‘ and ‘Red‘, Janson makes a striking return with a tribute to the uncanny corners of tenderness. Spread across 13-tracks, the composer delivers a steamy cauldron of dark ambient, mutant folk ballads and underworld drone.
The fifth track ‘iii (the hallway)‘ engulfs listeners in a meditative polyphony, its dark ambient soundscapes conjuring the labyrinthine corridors of the subconscious. Seraphic chants from Deputy intertwine with cinematic oscillations, crafting a glitched gateway that materialize after each wayward memory, inviting introspection and exploration of the unknown.
‘The River’ LP is scheduled for release on 30 October. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
