A close collaborator of Daniel Martin-McCormick alias Ital – with whom he forms the core of the Art Rock band Mi Ami, Damon Eliza Palermo follows up to his debut tape on Vancouver’s 1080p released two years ago with the excellent four-track EP ‘Cathedral‘, due out mid September on McCormick’s Lovers Rock imprint.
Opening this immersive collection of nocturnal ambient variations, the title-track unfolds as a fascinating collage of post-modern ambiences, chimey electronics and looped-out drones.
Imagine yourself contemplating the city’s longing breath from the top of a glass tower, the front beams of cars engulfing before their hot metallic carcasses in between the silent avenues of a foggy night with reptile ease. A whole new liturgy for a whole new religion, clubs devoid of soul but minds open onto the greater spheres; here lies a new cathedral for the sons of the twilight.
Cathedral is released via Lovers Rock on 15th September, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
