Now on the cusp of their twentieth release, New-York-based imprint Disc-o-lypso prepare to release the ten-track ‘Double Trouble‘ EP – courtesy of Bordeaux-born virtuoso Dombrance.
After several releases on London-based imprint Gouranga, Echo Orange and Kitsuné Music, Dombrance lines up two original cuts, rounded off with eight remixes – courtesy of Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Lindstrøm, italo-disco legend Daniele Baldelli and Paradise Garage’s affiliate Francois K among others. The ten tracks of ‘Double Trouble‘ illustrate the satiny aesthetics of Disc-o-lypso with a synthesis of space disco dilemma, oddball electro, voluptuous synth-wave and trippy leftfield.
Our pick for the premiere is Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi‘s interpretation of ‘Bayrou‘ produced by Dombrance – from its iconic cosmic disco signature, through its unflinching rhythms to its sci-fi bass arpeggios, the masterminds bring us back to the apogee of italo-disco memories on Lake Garda’s shores.
‘Double Trouble’ EP is scheduled for release on 1st March via Disc-o-lypso. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
