Following up records from Hame and Kareem Ali, Bordeaux-based label Noire & Blanche line up ‘Azura‘ EP from Newcastle-born producer Edmondson.
Primarily releasing his own productions through his Lissoms imprint, Edmondson has graced labels including Seb Wildblood’s All My Thoughts, Man Power’s MeMeMe and Berlin-based powerhouse Hypercolour. He now shifts gear into deeper and more introspective territories for Noire & Blanche delivering a 5-track platter of refined deep house and introspective instrumentation.
Our pick from the EP, ‘Every Night I Dream of Catching Trains’, unfolds like a half-remembered dream, drifting through the hidden corners of the mind. Distorted transmissions mirror a celestial spectrum filled with stretched-out piano chords and ultra-filtered sax phrases, while Edmondson’s rumbling train blasts off with his highly-arranged deep house rhythms.
