Following seven years of releases through MeMeMe, Electro Magnetic Fields and Hypercolour, as well as a track contribution on DJ Küsse’s label compilation ‘Sensible Seelen Vol. II‘, Edmondson lines up his first release in two years through his own label Lissoms.
Consisting of four tracks, ‘New Forest Mysticism‘ EP is said to showcase Edmondson’s vivid and refreshing interpretations of contemporary club music. Indeed, from the off we’re treated to the up-beat ambiance of ‘Think Back‘ and the super slick ‘All Dressed Up & Going Nowhere‘ – specifically suited to fans of Francis Harris.
However it is ‘New Forest Mysticism‘ that steals the limelight for us. A whirring pad warms the mood as a low-slung groove punches above, heightened with radio frequencies, vocal samples and polyphonic nuances. It’s the right kind of downtempo for a suitably hazy afternoon.
