Today, Berlin-based label WAAGE unleash ‘Anywhere I Go, Ghosts Are Following Me‘, the latest single from Ukrainian producer Iris Forest.
Hot on the heels of her brooding debut, ‘3:40‘ EP, released a few months ago, Forest ventures further into uncharted sonic territory. The single unfurls like an invitation to step into a world teetering on the edge of oblivion – 73 BPM, yet with the slow-burning intensity of a haunted clockwork that’s been ticking for centuries. This is no passive dark ambient, it’s an immersive exploration of tension, where machine-driven ghosts slither through forgotten chants and the aching echoes of reluctant migration.
From the moment ‘Anywhere I Go, Ghosts Are Following Me‘ unfurls, it feels like a necromantic ritual, summoning the spirits of past trauma, threading them into spectral arpeggios. It’s like trying to reconstruct a forgotten history from scraps of fog and static. By the third minute, the tension begins to breathe – dense, choking as drones twist and writhe, pulling the audience deeper into the dystopian dream. A polyphony of tainted textures emerges slowly, like faint glimmers of light on a long-forgotten horizon, teasing a future where the ghosts might finally find peace.
‘Anywhere I Go, Ghosts Are Following Me‘ is scheduled for release 28th March. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
