Following up the ‘Spacewoman‘ EP from Polish producer Charlie last month, Slow Motion sub-label Wrong Era prepare to release ‘Yet To Come‘ EP from Berlin-based producer Karolina Bnv.
Typically capturing ephemeral moments in the shadowy recesses of Moscow’s disco scene, Karolina Bnv makes her return with her sophomore release presenting a contemporary reinterpretation of the late-1980s Belgian new beat movement, interlacing acid house bass lines with EBM-inspired percussion.
Our pick is opening track ‘Unforgivable Decisions‘. Kicking off with ultra-filtered kick-drums and electrifying arpeggio pulses, the track immerses the audience into a post-industrial reverie. It conjures a thunderstorm of shimmering snares, intricate synth-laden Eastern motifs and the ethereal incantations of Karina Jilaz, crafting an auditory experience that is both haunting and transcendent.
‘Yet To Come’ is scheduled for release 22 November via Wrong Era. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
