Rotterdam-based record label Lowercase Life present ‘Balancing Act‘ – the debut extended-player from Italian producer Kuiper Belt, named after the celestial dust ring imagined by Dutch astronomer Gerard Kuiper back in 1951.
Kuiper Belt orbits the edges of dancefloor gravity, tracing elliptical patterns across the void with analogue precision. Anchored on the raw circuitry of Roland’s holy trinity – the TR-808, TR-909 and the TR-303—‘Balancing Act’ charts four club mutations stitched from acid’s ooze, dark techno and electro’s rusty underbelly.
Our pick is ‘Balancing Act‘ – a shapeshifting electro track that begins in subdued shimmer. Arpeggios flickering like sodium lights on an abandoned overpass, before launching into a syncopated frenzy of breakbeats and scorched basslines. As synthetic lifeforms rise, ‘Balancing Act’ becomes a trans-dimensional joyride powered by the ghosts of dancefloors.
‘Balancing Act’ EP is scheduled for release 6 June via Lowercase Life Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
