A long time in the works, Legion 808 debut instalment on French-born, recently Brussels-relocated imprint Unknown Precept – ‘Tombouctou Crisis‘ – finally pulls out the landing gear and is all set for touchdown on April 22nd.
Spitting out rogue mixes of squelchy analogue flare-ups, ruff’n’tuff drum patterns and flooded-engine hiccups, Legion 808’s face-melting wares find him fracturing and revamping EBM, proto-technoid and industrial-indebted motifs to his own – twisted – taste. One to whip crowds up into an all-consuming paranoid frenzy.
A straight out mischievous number, our premiere ‘Roller Looper Conveyor‘ feels like going for a dip in the cooling vessels of some dysfunctional nuclear power plant – distorted sirens ringing in the distance as your ears begin to melt. Coltish and abrasive as gets, this is apocalypse music in its finest form and function. N A S T Y.
Tombouctou Crisis is released via Unknown Precept on 22nd April, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
