Premiere: Light of Cacti – Washed Away In Pink Skies On Brighton Shores

Brighton-based imprint Tonight’s Dream add to their ever-expanding collection with ‘Neverland is a State of Mind‘, the debut album from British producer Kai Gittos, alias Light of Cacti.

Conceived as a sci-fi dreamscape unraveling the moonlit echoes of lost memories, ‘Neverland is a State of Mind‘ solidifies his craft as a master of hazy storytelling. Across eleven transmissions, Gittos navigates a labyrinth of mind-warping ambient, downtempo and after-hours breaks – an iridescent soundtrack for afternoons spent drifting along the shorelines of fractured recollections.

Our pick from the release, ‘Washed Away in Pink Skies on Brighton Shores‘ dives into a high-spirited deep techno hallucination. Precision-drilled drum patterns slither through a mist of spectral synths and briny field recordings, pulling the listener into a kaleidoscopic dusk. As the track unfolds, chords and FX-laden guitar riffs slice through the haze, amplifying the tension into a feverish helix – like stumbling upon a marble cliffside, pulsing with the flickering silhouettes of creatures at sundown.

‘Neverland is a State of Mind‘ is scheduled for release 7th March via Tonight’s Dream Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
