Premiere: Messell – envelope follower_I

Following up the release of Alto Aria’s recent album ‘Limerence‘, Copenhagen-based community platform Rhizome line up a 7-track album from Danish noise architect Messell.

After three ambient and experimental cassettes on Textur and Forlaget Kornmod, ‘envelope follower‘ explores a constellation of abstract noise, experimental electronics and drone. To mark the release, Messell is set to perform the album live at the Christianshavns Beboerhus in Copenhagen on the 20th of April.

Our pick from the album is ‘envelope follower_I‘ – thanks to a multiplex of cinematic soundscapes predicting a fearsome tsunami of noise. A fabulous fusion of ultra-fettered soundscapes and whirling propeller blades, Messell gingerly enwraps listeners with all enveloping swirl of emotion.

‘envelope follower’ is scheduled for release on 19th April via Rhizome. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
