Six months after the release of ‘Waistline‘ from Alex Burkat, Prague-based imprint Moving Pictures prepare to release their fifth various artist compilation.
Featuring eight tracks, ‘Sailing To Valinor‘ brings together a diverse roster of artists venturing through an opulent sound odyssey of cyber electro, ultrasonic breaks, UK garage, dub techno, and percussion-heavy IDM. Contributors include label co-founder Roman Rai, Ópalo, Goodbye Mirage, Fréquence Polaire, Akero, Midub, TR900 and Mike.H.
Our pick is ‘The Days In The Jaar‘ from Quito-based producer Ópalo – a skewed dancehall oddity designed for terrestrial shufflers seeking interplanetary gateways, combining stretched-out kick-drums with ceremonial percussions, FX-drenched textures and superlunary soundscapes.
