With just one official release on Swiss deep house label Project Indigo, plus a track contribution to Pintai’s debut vinyl release, Pango steps up to deliver his first vinyl outing on Hame’s Amsterdam-based imprint Pintai.
Pango debuted last year with ‘ahlea‘ – a five track ethereal journey through ambient textures, dreamlike downtempo, and hazy deep house. Marking Pintai’s third physical release, Pango takes a step further into the dancefloor with ‘Helio‘, while retaining the delicate intricacies and mesmerising qualities that made his debut so profound.
The title track opens with slowed, hazy tones and warm low-end swells, laying the foundation for an introspective mood. ‘Christilist‘ builds on this framework, stripping things back to reduced percussion and dubbed-out stabs, winding itself into a spellbinding groove.
On the flip, ‘Faehtar‘ introduces cinematic strings, airy chords, and crisp, saturated drums, striking a balance between drama and drive. Closing out the EP, ‘Wardal‘ emerges as the highlight. Built around jazzy piano motifs, bubbling synth lines, and a playful deep house drum groove, the track recalls the heartfelt style of German producer Moomin – music where intimacy and rhythm intertwine seamlessly.
With Helio, Pango affirms his unique voice while Pintai continues to define itself as a home for emotive, exploratory deep house. This momentum will carry forward as Pintai makes its London club debut at Club Cheek in Brixton on 22 November.
‘Helio’ is scheduled for release on 15th September via Pintai. Buy a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store and digital from Bandcamp.
