Premiere: Pau Roca – Your Energy feat. Laura Elle (Alton Miller Vocal Mix)

Almost four years since its inception, Barcelona-based Escola Records return to the fold, ready to unveil ‘Your Energy‘, a soulful declaration from label head and producer Pau Roca.

After captivating ears with releases on LA-based record label Pleasure Of Love and Island Issues, Roca makes a triumphant return with a stellar collection of deep house elegance and broken beat vitality, all wrapped in the sultry vocals of Laura Elle and graphic wonders from SMLXL. Topping off with remixes from local favourites Karmasound and Less J, plus an exceptional take from Detroit legend Alton Miller.

Our pick for the premiere is Alton Miller’s vocal remix of ‘Your Energy‘ – a 7-minute, rugged cruise drifting through Detroit’s moonlit cityscape. The track begins with the steady pulse of deep house rhythms, before Miller burrows beneath the surface with underwater chords and chunky basslines. As the groove swells and shifts, Miller takes us on a late-night, after-hours adventure, easing us from sweaty dancefloors to the hidden enclaves of Laurel Canyon. By the time we hit the 4-minute mark, a superstorm of interstellar synths takes over, like a celestial conversation unfolding under the stars.

‘Your Energy‘ is scheduled for release 17th February via Escola Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
