Premiere: Psycho Weazel – Matra Murena (feat. Local Suicide)

Following releases from Berlin-based producer Kalipo, Tel Aviv misfit Yotam Russo and Wiener Planquadrat, German imprint Iptamenos Discos return with the oddball soundtrack ‘Mains d’argile‘ EP – courtesy of Swiss duo Psycho Weazel, consisting of Ivo Roxo and Léo Besso.

After previous releases on Geneva via Lyon-based imprint Argent Sale, Madrid-based Rotten City Records and Correspondant, Neuchâtel-based turns over a leaf with ‘Mains d’argile‘. The duo will take your life into their laser-like hands with a high dose of dark disco, proto-trance lullabies, and adumbral new wave.

Our pick for the premiere is ‘Matra Murena‘ – a turbo tribute to the eighties mid-engined sports car along with Greco-German maverick duo Local Suicide. As the track launches into a rollercoaster of drum snares, arpeggios and syncopated vocals, Psycho Weazel draws the listener into a race full of resolutions.

‘Mains d’argile’ EP is scheduled for release on 26th January via Iptamenos Discos. Order a vinyl copy from Bandcamp.
