Following several releases from EBM trio Skinny Puppy, Liverpool-based supergroup Ladytron and Geographer, Vancouver-based imprint Nettwerk line up ‘Here For Now‘, courtesy of Austin-based sound designer and producer TJ Dumser – also known as Six Missing.
From playing guitar in a rock band in New York for years to a previous release on the avant-garde ambient imprint Valley View Records, the producer has muted into a multi-instrumental enchanter conducting new age lullabies, field recordings and swirls of dewy-eyed ambient.
Our pick from the release is ‘Moving’ thanks to its dark ambient soundtrack entwined with a Leprechaun-esque chorus and twilight nostalgia. The sonic voyage takes us on an otherworldly allure through Maryland’s forest, eventually reminding us of the importance of living in the moment.
