Japanese deep house producer Soshi Takeda makes lush, dreamy tunes that bring to mind the soundtrack to the best video game that never existed. His sonic palette perfectly meshes with the neon visuals and wide-eyed enthusiasm of a youth spent glued to the TV, cruising down Rainbow Road or exploring the sandbox of a vast, mind-expanding virtual world.
Over three releases, including the epic ‘Floating Mountains’ on 100% Silk, Takeda returns to the California imprint for his latest, ‘Secret Communication’. The album offers more of what you like about the producer, with even deeper soundscapes designed to transport you to a blissful state of serenity.
We’re pleased to highlight “Long Dream“, an appropriately named piece that flies off above the clouds and embraces the sunshine. The listener is enveloped in the comfortable aural blend Takeda cooked up on his mix of vintage 80s and 90s hardware. It is throwback music in the best way: you instantly feel a rapport with the warm sounds and love the chance to explore the tonal zones that Soshi Takeda continues crafting with each new release.
‘Secret Communication” is scheduled for release on 1 November via 100% Silk. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
