Premiere: Sounds Of La Cave – Waitaminit

Lyon-based record label Silence Collapse are back to convulse your ears with their second various artist compilation, a future-facing manifesto featuring some of the finest producers on the French music scene.

Across 12 tracks, the compilation channels the restless spirit of post-dubstep, assembling a kaleidoscope of sounds that blur the lines between dubbed-out bass explorations, downtempo, post-club bhangra, braindance and high-speed techno. Contributors include Lyon’s Nauppa, Contre Jour’s ace-in-the-sleeve De Grandi, Montpellier-based rhythm wizard Gipsyan and GIMIC’s resident Leese.

For the occasion, we’ve selected ‘Waitaminit‘ by Sounds Of La Cave as our pick. A weighty dubstep-adjacent behemoth that wrestles the attention into submission. Clocking in at just under four minutes, this track is a relentless juggernaut of seismic basslines and skittering beats. Oscillating between trance-like synth storms and reflective breakdowns, its syncopated vocals thread a fine line between chaos and coherence.

‘VA II‘ is scheduled for release 24th January via Silence Collapse. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
