Glasgow-based imprint Darkroom Dubs release ‘Soft Chewing Voice‘ from Sydney-based producer Tunnel Signs.
After carving a distinct path with releases on Air Signs Music, Death Strobe Records, Hakt Recordings and Samo Records, Ash Moses steps out with a solo effort that delves deep into the late-night universe. Across three tracks, he fuses the offbeat rhythms of house, dark disco and the jagged textures of acid-punk.
This sonic underworld pulses with a feverish intensity, where the boundary between machine and flesh blurs, and the dancefloor becomes a terrain of dark, hedonistic fantasies. Each track captures energy that seems to exist on the precipice of delirium, inviting the listener into a space where the lines between the mechanical and the corporeal are not only blurred – they are dissolved.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Soft Chewing Voice‘. Infused with the right touch of acid experiments, the track opens with a meticulously sculpted rack of percussive murmurs and resonant kick-drums, gradually spiralling into a delirious onslaught of FX-laden frequencies. As industrial bass intertwines with squelching squawks, the listener is drawn into a labyrinth of mechanical tongues, each whispering a seductive, otherworldly disco narrative from beneath the surface.
‘Soft Chewing Voice’ EP is scheduled for release 8 November via Darkroom Dubs. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
