Viennese electro label TRUST have build themselves a solid nest over the years in the intricate maze of electro’s ever-evolving scene, maintaining focus far away from contemporary club music. Founded in 1998 by DJ Glow, 2018 year marks the imprints 20th anniversary with forthcoming releases from Versalife, DJ Dj’ital, Microthol and Luxus Varta.
Initally influenced by the Dutch rave and techno scene, Boris Bunnik unveiled his multifaceted personality through various monikers, naturally reinventing himself as Conforce, Vernon Felicity or Silent Harbour. The Rotterdam based producer is now back as Versalife on TRUST with a four-tracker ranging from broken atmospheric techno to ambient-infused electro.
Our pick, “Exosuit“, is drenched in an alarming premonitory feeling: metallic exhalations throttle into the gritty bassline, stomach-jarring spiralling bumps warn the listener of space-time vacuums in the colony of Nova Prospekt. High-velocity percussions bestow the track of insidious energy, whilst a hypnotic echoing melody opens the door to Versalife’s imaginary world.
