Premiere: Yayoba – Transformations of the 3-Way Mirror

Globe-trotting ambient fusion supergroup Yayoba are set to release their debut album, ‘A Maze of Glass’ in May on Not Not Fun.

Yayoba features Paul Wilson (F. Ampism), Jani Hirvonen (Uton), and Johannes Schebler (Baldruin), who respectfully hail from Brighton, Turku and Wiesbaden. Together, they explore a mixture of live and electronic instrumentation at the intersection of ambient, experimental, and fourth world.

Our pick for today’s premiere is “Transformation of the 3-Way Mirror“, a delicate slab of musique concrete adjacent ambience. Woodwinds, chiming percussion, field recordings, and electronic flourishes fill the vast spaces generated by the trio.

Yayoba experiments with and expands on tropes of contemporary ambient, but charts a path beyond the placid nature of the genre. “Transformation of the 3-Way Mirror” is an exceptional gateway into the sonic realm making its way to your eardrums in May.

‘A Maze Of Glass’ is scheduled for release on the 3rd May via Not Not Fun. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
