Vainqueur’s Reductions 1995–1997 reissued on Scion Versions

A cornerstone of 1990s dub techno is back in circulation as Vainqueur ‘Reductions 1995–1997‘ is reissued on Scion Versions, the label run by René Löwe and Peter Kuschnereit (DJ Pete).

Vainqueur is the solo project of German producer René Löwe, best known for his deep involvement in the Berlin minimal and dub techno continuum. Alongside Peter Kuschnereit, Löwe also worked under the collaborative aliases Substance & Vainqueur, Scion, and Tyros, projects that became foundational to the stripped-back aesthetics of the time.

The collection revisits the stark, weightless sound that helped shape the Chain Reaction era, gathering together some of Löwe’s most revered work from the second half of the 1990s. The triple-vinyl edition of Reductions 1995–1997 pulls together material originally released on Chain Reaction, the influential Basic Channel sub-label.

The compilation centres on six side-long tracks lifted from the Elevations album, complemented by highlights from the Solanus and Reduce EPs. Adding further intrigue, the set also includes “Antistatic I,” a previously unreleased track from the same period.

Reductions 1995–1997 is out soon. Buy vinyl from Inverted Audio Record Store.
