Ahead of our rave in Peckham on 13 November with White Material’s co-founder Young Male guest deejay Ursula has recorded a full-throttle vinyl only mix featuring music from Abdulla Rashim, Radial, Kwartz, Perc, Surgeon, Dax-J and more.

Ahead of our rave in Peckham on 13 November at Bussey Building with White Material’s co-founder Young Male, we’re releasing podcasts from the DJ’s that will be joining us for the night. First up is Ursula, a London based vinyl only deejay who focusses of the deeper realms of atmospheric techno.

Ursula’s full-throttle mix features music from Abdulla Rashim, Radial, Stenny, Kwartz, Paul Boex, Perc, Surgeon, Dax-J and many more. If you like what you hear, then make sure you grab a ticket to our party from Resident Advisor and RSVP on Facebook as we have a lot more to reveal in the coming weeks.

"I didn't really reason with this mix... I just felt like it was
the perfect opportunity to play the kind of techno that moves me,
which is why I'm so excited to play."

I recorded this vinyl only mix in my bedroom on my Technics 1210’s using my little Allen & Heath Xone 22 mixer…. and very old needles! Sorry to the neighbors… I hope no one was home sick that day.

Keeping in mind the briefing of the upcoming event I selected about 20 records from my collection with a certain mood in mind. I knew I wanted to start with Abdulla Rashim because it would set the mood for the rest of the mix and the rest would follow more or less spontaneously.

During the mix I went with the feeling I was getting whilst playing, which meant I did a frantic dig in amongst my other records to find the one I had the urge to put on.

One of my best friends who has taught me how to mix has great taste in music and had given me some of my favourite tracks in this recording (Paul Boex and The 65D Mavericks) once as birthday presents from her, so these two tracks are particularly special to me.

Managing to finish off with one of my favourite producers at the moment – Stanislav Tokachev – made me super happy!
