Colin Self lines up ‘Siblings’ LP on RVNG Intl.

RVNG Intl. have announced the release of a new album from Berlin-via-NYC musician and performance artist Colin Self. The artist is a frequent collaborator with experimental musician and fellow RVNG alum Holly Herndon, appearing on her excellent record ‘Platform‘ and in her live performances.

Three years in the making, ‘Siblings‘ is said to be an “an exploration of identity through the story of a non-biological family collectively communing on a damaged planet.” Across its eleven tracks, “ecstatic voices and sound knot to form new ideals of kinship, emerging as horizontal relations for multi-species flourishing.”

Inspired by the work of Donna Haraway, ‘Siblings‘ is the final segment of the six-part opera series entitled Elation. Both “Stay With The Trouble (For Donna)” and “Emblem” from the record have today been shared to coincide with the album’s announcement: their accompanying visuals feature footage from the 2018 MoMA PS1 performance of Siblings.

Siblings is scheduled for release via RVNG Intl. on 2nd November 2018 in limited edition vinyl and digital formats. Order a copy here.
