Glasgow-based producer Conna Haraway returns this month with ‘Shifted‘, a three-track 12” on Sheffield-based record label Short Span that refines his explorations in atmospheric dub techno. The record follows his debut solo LP ‘Spatial Fix‘ on Australian imprint Theory Therapy in March.
Where ‘Spatial Fix‘ showcased dense atmospheres and immersive textures, ‘Shifted‘ narrows in on momentum, space and detail. The record’s A-side features “Redirect“, an expansive 11-minute collaboration with mysterious Berlin-based producer Xenia Reaper.
Conceived during a late Sunday night jam in Glasgow with two laptops synced in Ableton, the track layers Haraway’s looping bass and percussive framework with REAPER’s soaring synth line. The result is a lush, weightless ascent that gradually builds into enveloping pressure and drive.
The B-side delivers two solo cuts – “Detach” and “Duration” – that channel Haraway’s renewed engagement with classic 4×4 techno. Both tracks balance restraint and propulsion, threading finely swung rhythms and elegant detailing into productions that resonate equally in late-night club contexts and introspective home listening.
‘Shifted’ is scheduled for release on 12th September via Short Span. Order a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store.
