Soela enlists Caldera, Deepoint, Orion, Module One and Noah Skelton for Dial25 II

Soela is curator of the second volume in Dial Records’ 25-year anniversary series, Dial25, following volume one compiled by Ben Kaczor.

The digital release features tracks from Caldera, Deepoint and Noah Skelton, alongside a collaboration between Soela, Module One and Orion. It continues Dial’s legacy of forward-thinking electronic music, a lineage that includes Pantha du Prince, Efdemin, John Roberts, XDB and Roman Flügel – a context in which Soela sits naturally.

She joined Dial in 2020 with her debut album Genuine Silk, following releases on Axaminer Records, Kompakt, E-Beamz, Lost Palms, Nerang Recordings and Detroit Underground. Reviewing the album at the time, we described it as “a statement, a sign of the times, a partner in crime for the ambience that is your current purgatory.” Opening with a collaboration with Module One, the record unfolded through leftfield textures and deep shades of house, revealing new emotional layers with each listen.

Born in Russia and now based in Berlin, Soela’s signing to Lawrence and Carsten Jost’s imprint coincided with the label’s 20-year anniversary. Now, five years on, she takes on the role of compiler for Dial25 II – a fitting milestone in her ongoing relationship with the label.

‘Dial25 II’ is out now via Dial. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
