The latest episode of our sister mix series Newtype Rhythms features a red-alert level of a mix courtesy of NYC-via-Baltimore multidisciplinary artist JiaLing.
Her roots laid deep within the bass clef after fifteen years of companionship with the cello, she moved onto the mediums of visual arts, film and DJing to expand on her creativity, which then turned toward productions as well.
Self-releasing under the pseudonym “Big J”, this burgeoning artist hits upon the touchstones of dancefloor euphoria by embracing the rawness and catharsis of the experience altogether within her tracks – and simultaneously – with their guest mix for Newtype Rhythms.
Chuffed to the bits with magnificent selections and some seriously rude dubs, JiaLing’s mix for the series is one to remember. Their mix starts at 35 minutes in, with resident Sheepshead warming things up per usual.
