Experimental house vanguards Kassem Mosse and Lowtec reunite under their collaborative alias Kolorit, marking their return with a new six-track release on Workshop titled Lose Ideen (Loose Ideas). The project arrives after a period of renewed activity from the duo, who recently shared an all-nighter at Open Ground and delivered a tape for Cav Empt in Japan.
Lose Ideen drifts through smoky, slow-burn house and loosely improvised rhythmic sketches. Recorded across a series of freeform live sessions, the release channels Kolorit’s penchant for hypnotic reduction and hazy, dreamlike atmospheres. Reflecting on the forthcoming record, Kassem Mosse explains:
“Following our all-nighter at Open Ground and our recent tape for our friends at C.E in Japan, Lowtec and I follow up with a new 6-track LP released through Workshop. Lose Ideen is a collection of subtle groovers and spaced-out techno jazz recorded in various live sessions off the club music grid. The Kolorit vision is supported with artwork by Yokoyama Yuichi.”
The album deepens the Kolorit mythology, merging tactile machine funk with improvisational techno-jazz sensibilities. Another singular entry in the Workshop universe, Lose Ideen finds Mosse and Lowtec at their most intuitive, exploring the spaces between groove, ambience, and abstraction with masterful subtlety.
‘Lose Ideen’ is out now via Workshop. Buy a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store.
