Launched a couple of months ago with a first instalment involving Ninja Tune’s stalwart Bonobo and Los Angeles-based band Hundred Waters, WeTransfer’s latest foray in the realm of contemporary music consists in a collection of podcasts soberly titled WeTalkMusic, shaping up an hour-long, in-depth exploration of some of today’s most singular creative minds.
The discussion, led by Boiler Room’s Thris Tian is more intimate than most, inviting guests to select influential tracks and personal favourites, interspersed throughout the course of the interview like beacons to each of its protagonist’s widescreen universe.
The third number in WeTalkMusic series finds highly-energetic Californian rapper Anderson .Paak and widely-acclaimed Brooklyn producer, selector and DJ Ge-ology crossing paths and thoughts at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide festival. The pair plainly open up on their love for jazz music, Theo Parrish’s uncompromising approach, .Paak’s recent collaboration with Dr Dre or Ge-ology’s views on digging and the digital era… amongst many other subjects.
