Dutch imprint Field Records reveal the release of ‘Epilogue‘, a new triple vinyl pack from American producer Mike Parker, revisiting the artist’s celebrated output on the now-defunct German record label Prologue.
Between 2011 and 2013, Parker helped shape a hypnotic, hard-edged strain of steely techno that became synonymous with Prologue. Alongside contemporary producers such as Donato Dozzy and Cio D’or, Parker’s sound channelled reduction and repetition into immersive deep and hypnotic techno defined by precision, intensity and psychedelia.
‘Epilogue’ compiles material from Parker’s debut ‘Subterranean Liquid‘ EP in 2011 through to his 2013 full-length ‘Lustrations‘, considered among the most incisive work of his career. Across the collection, Parker’s productions balance stripped-back techno with finely tuned textures, veering between subliminal pulses and visceral impact while maintaining the austere alien-like character that has become his signature.
This collection on Field Records combs through Parker’s Prologue output and makes a considered selection, gathering key pieces from the first two EPs alongside six of the album tracks on a triple vinyl pressing, alongside a further eight cuts on the expanded digital edition.
