A new chapter in Bristol’s electronic music scene begins as North View Records launches with the debut album ‘Quiet Thud‘ by label founder Oliver.
The 11-track album offers a captivating blend of soundscapes inspired by the raw beauty of the British coastline, weaving together techno, ambient, downtempo, and guitar-driven elements into a fluid exploration of mood and texture.
‘Quiet Thud‘ marks a significant milestone for Oliver, building on the momentum of a previous well-received release on London’s Mantissa Records. While rooted in house and techno, the album expands into more atmospheric and experimental territory, maintaining an ethereal, distinctive quality throughout.
North View Records’ first release sets a clear tone for the label’s artistic direction: immersive, boundary-pushing, and emotionally resonant electronic music. With Quiet Thud, Oliver offers listeners a deeply personal sonic journey that echoes the rugged serenity of the natural world that inspired it.
Our standout track from the album is the third cut, “Plaza“. Brimming with effervescent drum programming and shrouded in ethereal atmospheres, it gradually unfolds into an immersive soundscape that subtly draws you in, head gently nodding along. A must-listen for fans of The Sight Below, Exael, and Uon.
‘Quiet Thud’ is out now on North View Records. Buy a vinyl copy form Inverted Audio Record Store and digital from Bandcamp.
